Liquid Chlorophyll

Liquid Chlorophyll

If you are serious about "going green", then Liquid Chlorophyll should be at the top of your check list. Nothing could be more healthy and green than chlorophyll. Its benefits are so important it begs to be a staple part of your diet. Perhaps you remember it from Biology class in high school.
  • Chlorophyll is a green pigment found in almost all plants, algae and green leafs.
  • Chlorophyll is an extremely important biomolecule, critical in photosynthesis, which allows plants to obtain energy from light.
This means its a powerful and potent source of energy. As it is the life of all plants, so it is a terrific blood builder identical to our hemoglobin with exception to the center atom.

Drinking Liquid Chlorophyll is like having a blood transfusion. You are building your blood and purifying it. You will feel the revitalizing difference.

Dr. Robert Young's research indicates as you increases your consumption of chlorophyll from green foods and green drinks the quality and quantity of the red blood cells improve. This can be noted on a CBC medical test as the red blood cell count increases and the hemoglobin increases in the healthy ranges. This makes liquid chlorophyll one of the most efficient ways to get your greens and build your blood.

Liquid chlorophyll can be added to any water or green drink to enhance the blood building benefits. Science also reveals the many wonderful benefits chlorophyll has on our bodies.

  • detoxifier
  • deodorizer
  • controls germs
  • heals the cells, wounds, repairs tissues
  • stimulating red blood cells to improve oxygen supply.
  • oxygen to all cells and tissues
  • rich source of vitamins and nutrients
  • powerful antioxidant
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Chelation of Heavy Metals
  • natural breath freshener
  • alkalizing
How to use Liquid Chlorophyll?
Liquid Chlorophyll can be added to water, smoothies, or pH Miracle Greens to improve the concentration of this powerful blood builder. A great way to transition a new person to the “green” lifestyle.

9/11 Memorial

Today we remember those taken from us on 9/11. Although it has been ten years, for many it feels as though it was just yesterday.

The beauty, if you don't mind, of 9/11 is the outpouring of love to those who lost someone that day, the unity shown amongst US citizens everywhere, and compassion that poured in from countries around the world immediately following the horror. To me the United States felt like one big neighborhood of family members, not spanning a great distance. I believe that was also in part to the strong expression of unity that arose from Manhattans Ground Zero, the Pentagon, and Shanksville that day. A monument of lights beamed where the Twin Towers stood for evenings to follow, giving everyone time to reflect and consider how to move forward. The process of healing has been long and rough for so many. My respect, love and admiration goes out to all the survivors, responders, military and others of 9/11. I look forward to visiting the monument to pay my respects in person when I come home to New York. God bless you all, and God bless America.

Developing Healthy Habits

All chatter and party lines aside, I hope all of you will be encouraged by some of the progress being made throughout the country as it relates to Childhood Obesity in America. I also pray you will be concerned about the presence of this issue in our society.

The issue of obesity is actually not limited to our children but sadly enough, includes them. Posted below is a good discussion about this very serious epidemic. Maybe you are in a position to bring about positive changes in your school. Well, I want to motivate you and others to get educated about this topic. Get involved however you can to secure the future of our youth. Eliminating food deserts is another focus of the Let's Move campaign. 23 million people plus 6.5 million children are currently living in these food deserts located in rural and urban areas. I believe We the People can do something about this, if nothing other than educating ourselves that they exist.

Essentials For Your Summer

As the winter months come to a close, it's time to start gathering books to read for the summer and at the beach. I believe the books on this list are smart additions for your home medical and self-help library. For me, the books on this list are some of my "go to's" for living a partial Alkalarian lifestyle.

There are stretches of time that my diet is completely Alkalarian--until life happens. Some things or special events will change my diet to that of a partial Alkalarian. I don't see a problem with it, but I do notice my body (digestive, and lymphatic systems) prefer the complete Alkalarian way of living. So, this list has some of the books I use to reconnect to this nutritious program for wellness that is Alkalarian living. There are many terrific recipes that create nice dishes for your picnic baskets too. http://www.phmiracleliving.com/c-25-books-dvds-audios.aspx?affiliateid=10464

    Taking Vitamin D3 Prevents Falls

"To help prevent falls, the elderly should cut down on meds, alkalize their body with green foods and drinks, decrease acidic foods and drinks, and increase vitamin D3," states Dr. Robert O. Young, author of The pH Miracle For Diabetes.

    By Katherine Harmon
    January 13, 2011

How many late-life declines can be traced back to a fall? Whether or not it involves a fractured hip or just a general shake-up, even a minor spill can precipitate a rapid loss of function and independence or even death in seniors.

"Falls are one of the most common health problems experienced by older adults," Mary Tinetti, of the Yale School of Medicine's Program in Geriatrics, said in a prepared statement. The majority of falls in older adults (some 70 percent) occur when no one is looking, and about 60 percent of older adults with cognitive impairment suffer at least one fall each year, according to a new reportTinetti co-authored. These tumbles often lead to an extended hospital stay or an assisted living admission. "Given their frequency and consequences, falls are as serious a health problem for older persons as heart attacks for strokes," she said.

The report features a set of guidelines for preventing falls in the elderly, updating formal recommendations from the American and British geriatric societies for the first time in 10 years. The new recommendations were published online January 13 in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

To reduce falls among community-dwelling older adults, Tinetti and her colleagues recommended:

    • Working with a doctor to reduce the number and dosage of medications, especially antidepressants (including selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors), sedatives and antipsychotics;
    • Increasing vitamin D supplementation to 800 international units per day if a person is likely deficient or seems to be a risk for falls;
    • And careful physical activity, such as physical therapy or tai chi to improve balance, flexibility and mobility.
      http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-404-ph-d3.aspx?affiliateid=10464

These interventions and others (including assessing footwear, physical environment, visual acuity and circulatory health) can help reduce a senior's risk of falling, Tinetti and her colleagues found after reviewing nearly a decade's worth of literature on the subject. Older adults are often on a host of prescription medications to address physical and psychological ills, and despite their recommendation to reduce the number and dosage of medications, the research team acknowledged that in some cases, "discontinuation of a particular high-risk is not possible because of medical conditions."

Rather than focusing on just one of the recommendations, as previous studies have suggested, the researchers assert that the guidelines should be considered en masse. "Because we looked at not only what recommendations were given, but also which [were] carried out, we're confident that multifactorial interventions is the best course of action," said Tinetti.

Other recent research has suggested that avoiding alcohol and listening to music while exercising have helped to keep seniors standing.

      Vitamin D3

If you’re reading this – you are probably suffering from a Vitamin D deficiency. This isn’t scare mongering or marketing hype – it’s the plain truth. According to the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine: "Vitamin D Deficiency is Pandemic." And if you are saying “So what?”, there are lots of reasons why you should be concerned, all having to do with your health.

If you think Vitamin D only affects your bones, think again. In recent years medical investigators have re-opened research into this “common” vitamin – and have come away with a new found respect for its wide ranging health and healing properties. Their overwhelming consensus? Vitamin D3 supplementation is necessary. And lots of it. Vitamin D3 is one of the few vitamins the body can actually manufacture itself, through a complex process involving sunlight. But this isn’t enough. In fact, in a recent study, 83% of people in Saudi Arabia were found to be Vitamin D deficient - and you really can’t find a sunnier place than Saudi Arabia!

Dr. Andrew Jones, Medical Director of the Women’s Health Institute states “If you’re human, you’re at risk”. Men, women, children – all are equally affected. Vitamin D deficiency doesn’t discriminate. It’s affecting the entire population – regardless of skin color, gender or age. Dr. Damien Downing, editor of the Journal of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and President of the British Society for Ecological Medicine, when asked about who is Vitamin D deficient, simply stated: “We ALL are.” The Mayo Clinic reported that "…overall 93% of 150 schoolchildren and adults tested were deficient in Vitamin D”, this in a Minnesota-based study. Within that same study, the Mayo Clinic found 100% of African-Americans, East Africans, Hispanics and Native Americans were deficient. This is truly a pandemic of staggering proportions! According to new research presented at the Institute of Food Technologists Annual Meeting and Food Expo® earlier this month, Vitamin D may play a role in preventing auto-immune diseases or over-acid tissue conditions such as multiple sclerosis and rheumatoid arthritis, some types of cancerous conditions such as breast, ovarian, colorectal and prostate. “Low vitamin D status is linked to a number of different conditions,” said James C. Fleet, Ph.D. professor in the department of foods and nutrition at Purdue University. “These include certain cancers, muscle weakness and types I and II diabetes—possibly even schizophrenia and multiple sclerosis.”

      http://www.phmiracleliving.com/s-14-diabetes.aspx?affiliateid=10464

Why Are We So Deficient in Vitamin D?
      • Lack of sunlight - Just listen to most any so-called mainstream health pundit today, and what you hear is this: “Sunlight Kills! Avoid the sun! Slather yourself with chemical sun blockers”. You will certainly here this from every tanning lotion company (so they can sell product). We humans evolved in the sunlight and it’s essential for our good health. I bet you didn’t know skin melanomas (skin cancers) are more prevalent in people who avoid sunlight. Sunlight does not cause cancer - it is an over acidic condition that causes cancer.
      • Dietary deficiency - What our ancestors didn’t get from the sun, they consumed in the food they ate. This included Vitamin D. But back when we were hunter/gatherers we weren’t burdened with fast and processed food, stuff that is by and large nutritionally bankrupt…totally devoid of vitamins and minerals, filled with sugars and trans fats. These “foods” actually deplete our bodies of the nutrients we need.
      • Farming practices - Modern farming techniques have little to do with nutrition. Do you know what is the one major, overriding factor in today’s mega-farm industry? Time. How to grow crops the quickest way possible. If that means untested gene manipulations or modifications on crops, who cares? If spreading tons of chemical fertilizers and pesticides are needed in keeping the soil “productive” - then spread and spray! No matter that each successive year the soil becomes weaker and weaker, less able to give the plants growing in it a full range of essential nutrients. Just as long as the food looks plump and inviting – that’s considered enough. But… it isn’t enough. As the soil grows weaker and more dependent upon the tons of artificial fertilizers sown into it year after year, the vitamins we need are slowly but surely dwindling down to almost nothing. In the case of Vitamin D, this is especially true. The fact is, almost no one can get enough Vitamin D just through diet anymore.
      Daily Recommended Dosage
The daily recommended dosage (RDA) of Vitamin D is set at 400 IU (international units). Taking this amount of Vitamin D guarantees you one thing: Deficiency. This level of Vitamin D is the absolute minimum the body needs in order to avoid catastrophic health problems. It’s starving our nutritional needs, giving our bodies the barest amount necessary to function without falling apart. This isn’t health – it’s disease just waiting to happen.

      Vitamin D Is Safe
Many people confuse Vitamin D with Vitamin A. That’s normal, because the two are usually lumped together when buying supplements. While we do need both vitamins in maintaining good health, Vitamin D doesn’t have the toxicity of Vitamin A when taken in larger dosages. The fear of over-supplementing with Vitamin D3 is a myth – and has been largely debunked by independent research.

Not All Vitamin D The Same
There is more than one version of Vitamin D. The biologically active form is known as D3 or cholecalciferol. Many inferior supplements contain a cheaper D2 or ergocalciferol version. But in the human body this D2 is inactive and must be first converted into D3 before it has any effects on health. This is a largely wasteful process, especially when the active D3 is so readily available.

      http://www.phmiracleliving.com/p-404-ph-d3.aspx?affiliateid=10464

      Recommended Dosages
      • A lecture in Houston presented by Dr. Abbas Qutab in September, 2007, stated the overall general recommendation for Vitamin D supplementation should be a minimum of 10,000 IU/day. For normalizing menstrual periods, the journal Steroids recommends 50,000 – 100,000 IU per week. New scientific findings have revealed the sweeping multiple functions of Vitamin D - far above and beyond anything mainstream doctors were (and still are) being taught.
      • Dr. Robert O. Young, author of The pH Miracle recommends up to 50,000 IU's of Vitamin D3 daily stating "I have found significant healing in non-cancerous and cancerous vertebral fractures and hip fractures when supplementing an alkaline diet with 50,000 international units of Vitamin D3 per day."

      Natural Vitamin D3 – 10,000 IU (250 mcg) Capsules
Working closely with Dr. Young, pH Miracle now produces an all natural Vitamin D3 capsule called “Ultra D” with a full 10,000 IU (250 mcg) dose. Ultra D comes in a 90 capsule count bottle and is available online at pHMiracleLiving or by calling 1.203.548.0377.

Dr. Oz: The National Childhood Obesity Crisis

As a father and a physician, I am thrilled to see the Obama administration addressing one of the most pressing issues for the next generation – the fight against childhood obesity. Michelle Obama’s initiative has made big headlines, bringing light to this urgent national crisis.

The statistics are shocking. Childhood obesity has nearly tripled in prevalence in the last 30 years. The extensive list of complications facing children who suffer from obesity includes diabetes, abnormal cholesterol, high blood pressure, asthma and sleep disorders. Even more frightening is the fact that these conditions are likely to follow children into their adult lives. The fat cells that children deposit at young ages stay with them as they grow. This means that extraneous fat cells will be impossible to remove and will burden these children for the rest of their lives.

On my show we welcome a young girl who is heading down that dangerous road. Lillie is 4 years old and weighs 85 lbs. We sit down with her parents, Heather and Mike, and discuss the emotional issues that attribute to Lillie’s obesity. We lay out an action plan that focuses on making wellness a family affair. The example that Heather and Mike set as parents is essential to Lillie developing healthy eating habits.

Like so many, Heather, Mike and Lillie were struggling with these issues privately. However, there are some who battle weight and obesity under public scrutiny. We welcome pop singer and TV personality, Carnie Wilson. Carnie’s struggle with food began when she was only 4 years old. At such a young age, she was already dealing with sugar cravings. As her children grow, Carnie senses the urgency to take back her health.

The fight to end childhood obesity begins with adults. If you feel like your child may be obese talk to a pediatrician. They can map out an individualized weight assessment and if necessary, work with you to create a personal treatment plan. A healthy family is a blessing that comes with responsibility, as a nation, we need to step up.

      Happy Earth Day! Happy Easter!

It's Earth Day again. Have we learn anything yet?
I hope somewhere during your day you manage to do something green. What a great day for "Tree Huggers" like me, who get the opportunity to share my love for the glory of God with others. Well, you know we are all connected. To love the Lord is to appreciate your fellow-man. Really. "Vive la difference!"

OK, so the perfect day of leisure for me is one spent outdoors on a sunrise hike to the top of a mountain, near streams and a lake. Or, a day spent at sea, or looking at the ocean. Add to that a suspenseful book, citrus fruits, seltzer and some chili to share with my friends. That to me is a fun day celebrating the planet earth.

I don't care if it sounds cheesy and cliché. I still think its fun! -What is your idea of the perfect day of leisure? I hope you get to do it this weekend, if not today. Just make certain "you have a great one" no matter what you decide to do!

      Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution

Chef Jamie Oliver is as determined as many to see Childhood Obesity come to a screeching end. There is nothing flattering about our Obesity statistics in America. Frankly, at the end of the day, we have no one to hold accountable, but ourselves for the state of our eating habits and lack of exercise.

We, as citizens of United States, have the ability to transform the landscape of nutrition in our schools and universities. However, the practice of nutrition and portion must start at home. A "movement" is the only way to bring about such a change. Jamie Oliver, another supporter of First Lady Michelle Obama's initiative, has been on such a crusade to win back the health of our children (our future):

We're losing the war against obesity in the US. It's sad, but true. Our kids are growing up overweight and malnourished from a diet of processed foods, and today's children will be the first generation ever to live shorter lives than their parents. It's time for change. It's time for a Food Revolution.
"Since I've been working in America, I've been overwhelmed by the number of people who have come out to support the Food Revolution. More than 630,000 people have signed the petition, over 300,000 of you subscribe to our newsletter and thousands of you have written to me. The only message I keep hearing is that you believe your kids need better food, and that you want help to keep cooking skills alive. That's why this Food Revolution matters."
      Jamie Oliver
The problem stems from the loss of cooking skills at home and the availability of processed foods at every turn, from the school cafeteria to church function halls, factories and offices. This Food Revolution is about saving lives by inspiring everyone: moms, dads, kids, teens and cafeteria workers to get back to basics and start cooking good food from scratch.
      -Jamie Oliver

So, if you have not guessed by now, I am in full agreement with First Lady Michelle Obama and Jamie Oliver about our country's condition, and on board with a much needed Food Revolution for America. DYGandM aka Drink Your Greens and Mineral!

Above: A promotion for a healthy America with a picture of the First Lady's garden.

Above: First Lady Michelle Obama passes on her knowledge and passion for gardening to local students, along with examples of appropriate nutrition for a healthy tomorrow.

I share the message, and sentiment of First Lady Michelle Obama that organic gardening is key to our being fit, and staying healthy! We were all meant to be slender, energetic, have beautiful skin and an alert mindGardening, no matter what size, can be a family affair. All of this leads to a powerful future, and brighter possibilities. We should all make a commitment to start a vegetable garden on some scale, this year!

Understand, you can not possibly consume all the fruit and vegetables your body really needs in one day by eating them. So I want to add, "drink your greens and minerals" to gain a superior foundation to what you had in 2010. Be proactive when it comes to your health, and do not settle for feeling better...Let us all do better to be better this 2011!
